::.Both of us are spendthrifts...

When both you and your spouse are spendthrifts, you may experience varying degrees of financial insecurity, anxiety, mutual loss of trust, and other  problems.

Solutions
Take these steps for better financial communication and coordination:

  1. Be honest: Being honest with each other about what you're spending will start you on the road towards  solving this dilemma.
  2.

  3. Cooperate: Realize you must  work together to resolve your problem. Schedule free time to talk when you're feeling the least rushed. Stay calm and focused on the discussion. Consider  letting the answering machine take your calls during your meeting.
  4.

  5. Track expenditures: Take out  the checkbooks, ATM receipts, and credit card bills: analyze who has spent  what.
  6.

  7. Create a budget: Schedule  another conversation to draw up a budget for necessities. Discuss and write down behaviors and strategies to help both of you avoid overspending. Place  this list in a prominent place, such as the fridge door, as a frequent reminder to implement these strategies.
  8.

  9. Meet regularly: Meet once a week to compare and discuss spending habits.
